Dr. Russell was drawn to become a hospitalist for the variety and autonomy provided by the specialty. As a hospitalist, he coordinates all aspects of a patient's hospital stay, from hospital admission to discharge to follow-up appointments. He strives to keep his patients, their family members and their primary care doctors informed about treatment plans and progress. He also works closely with other specialists involved in patient care.

Biography
Dr. Russell grew up in the Northland, where he now lives with his wife. His ties to North Kansas City Hospital are familial, with his father being a physician in the Emergency Department. In his spare time, he likes reading nonfiction books, running and gardening (from outdoor to hydroponic gardening).
